Knights Men’s Basketball Finish Strong at Home

HAMILTON, ON: The Niagara College Knights men's basketball team (9-8) played host
to the Redeemer Royals on Wednesday night for their final home game of the regular
season. The Knights trampled the Royals, winning 88-66.
As the final home game of the season for the Knights, this served as senior night, and
one graduating student athlete was honored from the men's basketball team. 3 rd year
guard from Burlington, Ontario, Adrian Pajor is graduating from the Business
Administration – International Business program.
The Knights came out hot at the beginning of the first quarter and never really cooled
off, outscoring the Royals 40-22 in the 1st half of the game. The Royals tried to claw
their way back but ultimately were never able to dwindle the deficit to less than 22
points.
3rd year Mark Taylor saw his first start of the 2024-2025 season after fighting some
nagging injuries and had a fantastic game. He posted a stat line of 15 points, 5
rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block in 16 minutes. 2 nd year Kadin Moore also posted 15
points and added 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. Coltin Elwell, the 1 st year
guard from St. Catharines, ON, had a strong game, scoring 13 points, 2 rebounds, and
1 steal.
Head coach Lequan Hylton is "very proud of the team for closing out the regular season
home games with a big win". He shared that he is proud to "recognize AP before the
game and loved how the guys fed off the energy". He is looking forward to their last
game coming up and then making a push in the playoffs.
The Knights will travel to North Bay on Saturday for their final regular season game of
the season when they will take on the Canadore Panthers. The playoff picture will be
clear for the Knights following that game when they will learn whether they will have the
opportunity to host a home playoff game or if they will have to travel next weekend.
