ANCASTER, ON: The Niagara College Knights men's basketball team (3-6) travelled to Ancaster on Wednesday evening to take on the Redeemer Royals (2-7).  The Knights had a strong first quarter, scoring 24 points to Redeemer's 20, and were able to hold on to the lead for the remainder of the game, winning by 8 with a final score of 80-72.

The Knights are facing some injuries concerns, and relied on their starters to contribute big in tonight's matchup.  3rd year starter Skylar Samuel had a strong game contributing 21 points with 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.  Isiah Panom, a 1st year forward from Medicine Hat, Alberta, had another strong game with his first double-double of the season.  He contributed 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 assist.  Raheem Dennis was able to come off the bench to play 24 minutes and added 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists of his own.

This win keeps the Knights in contention for a playoff spot as they host the Fanshawe Falcons at home on Saturday afternoon for their final home game in the first half of the season.  Tipoff is scheduled for 3pm at the Simplii Financial Athletic Centre in Welland.
