Kayde Bailey of the Niagara College women's volleyball program has been selected as this week's Ontario College Athletic Association women's volleyball athlete of the week. Bailey was instrumental in the Knights' two weekend victories over the Boreal Vipers and Cambrian Golden Shield.
The five-foot-eight native of Burlington brings versatility to the Knights lineup. The second-year sport management student has the ability to play the outside hitter, setter, and libero positions.
During Saturday's matchup with the Boreal Vipers, Bailey utilized her power both at the service line and the net, finishing with six kills and four service aces.
During the Knights October 27th victory over the Cambrian Golden Shield, Bailey was dominant in all facets of the game finishing the contest with 14 kills, six stuff blocks, and five services aces.
Niagara College women's volleyball head coach Joey Martins commented "Kayde had a tremendous weekend. She was huge in both matches. She has put in a lot of hard work so far this season and is proving herself as a real leader for our program."
Bailey and the rest of the Niagara College women's volleyball program (2-0) will resume action on Sunday, November 3rd when the team hosts the St. Clair Saints at 12:00pm.
