WELLAND, ON: Your Niagara Knights (3-1) hosted the Fanshawe Falcons (1-4) for a Saturday night matchup. The Knights were able to get the job done and win in 4 sets (14-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-17)
The Knights came into Saturday nights game looking to bounce back from their loss earlier in the week to Mohawk Mountaineers (5-0). The Knights were able to start the game off with plenty of attacking opportunities, having 29 total attacks, but couldn't seal the deal with the first set going to the Falcons. The Knights exited the huddle and knew they had to step their game up if they wanted to walk away with the victory. They managed to keep the Falcons in check the rest of the game by showcasing their stellar defense – having a team total 35 digs, 13 of which coming from 1st year Natalie Little.
Head coach of the Knights, Steve Stone, was thrilled with the "great response from the ladies after going down in the first set. They really showed a lot of fight and grit after that set". Niagara used their team chemistry to their advantage and were passing the ball very well, with 5th year setter Montanna Taylor finishing the game with 22 assists, 5 kills and 1 serving ace.
The Knights are back in action as they travel to Toronto and will take on the Sheridan Bruins (1-4) on Wednesday, November 6th at 6:00 PM.
