Fitness Class Descriptions


Bootcamp 

Location: A205 (Welland) / Gym (NOTL) 

Class Times: Tuesday - 12:30pm (Welland); 4:30pm (NOTL)

A full body workout with a moderate-high intensity targeting the major muscle groups. This class will help improve aerobic fitness as well as muscular strength, power, and endurance. These workouts are designed to add diversity, fun, and a challenge to your regular exercise routines.


Circuit Training

Location: A205 (Welland) / Gym (NOTL)

Class Times: Thursday - 12:30pm (Welland); Friday - 12:30pm (NOTL)

This class has it all! Stations for cardio and strength training followed by abs & stretching will leave you sweating with this triple threat workout


Core

Location: A205 (Welland)

Class Times: Monday - 4:30pm (Welland); Friday - 12:30pm (Welland)

The ultimate core workout. Crunch, plank, and twist your way to a stronger and firmer core. Targeting the abdominals and low back which play an important role in maintaining good posture and a healthy back.


Danceology

Location: A205 (Welland) 

Class Times: Wednesday - 4:30pm (Welland)

5, 6, 7, 8! Improve your coordination, build confidence and get a great workout with this fun dance class. This class begins with a warm up followed by learning a simple yet challenging routine to classic, old school and recent hits.


FAB! Flexibility, Agility, Bootcamp

Location: Gym (NOTL)

Class Times: Wednesday - 4:30pm (NOTL)

Improve your quickness, balance and footwork all in one class. This class will give you the tools to gain your sense of stability while increasing your reaction time with agility and ladder training. 


Flexibility

Location: A205 (Welland) 

Class Times: Thursday - 4:30pm (Welland)

This class is dedicated to stretching the entire body to improve joint mobility and range of motion.


Hero Fit Bootcamp 

Location: A205 (Welland) 

Class Times: Wednesday 6:30pm (Welland)

Overall improve total body strength. This is a total body work out, using the combination of strength training and cardio, like our regular bootcamp but geared towards improving fitness testing. This class will help increase the number or push ups and sit ups as well as increase cardiovascular endurance to help improve your beep test stage.


HIIT

Location: A205 (Welland) 

Class Times: Monday - 12:30pm (Welland)

HIIT, or High Intensity Interval Training is the workout fitness experts have been raving about. HIIT features short intervals of extreme exercise, followed by intervals of rest. These bursts of intense work will torch calories and strengthen your entire body.


Lower Body Blast 

Location: A205 (Welland) / Gym (NOTL)

Class Times: Wednesday - 6:30pm (Welland); Thursday - 12:30pm (NOTL); 6:30pm (Welland)

Improve lower body strength, endurance, and muscle tone with this class that focuses on the thighs, glutes, and core muscle groups.


Pilates

Location: A205 (WC) 

Class Times: Monday - 5:30pm (Welland)

Learn the fundamental principles of the Pilates method and its basic exercises. Improve your strength, posture and flexibility through various movements, exercises and alignment practices. This class is meant to be an all-level class, no previous Pilates experience required.


Professional Napping

Location: A205 (WC) / Gym (NOTL)

Class Times: Wednesday - 12:30pm (NOTL); 1:30pm (Welland)

Do you need a break? Do you feel napping should be a professional sport? Grab your sleep mask, because this is your time to shine. Lights off, white noise and sleep stories highlight this class. Find your favourite mat and shut it down for a glorious 50-minute power nap tp kickstart the rest of your week.


Spin & Core

Location: Gym (NOTL)

Class Times: Thursday - 4:30pm (NOTL)

This combination fitness class will cycle your way to increasing your cardiorespiratory system with speed and endurance exercises Plus strengthen your core muscles with a variety of exercises. 


Spin & Stretch

Location: A205 (Welland)

Class Times: Wednesday - 5:30pm (Welland)

Spin is a medium to high-intensity cardio workout that will help increase your cardiovascular fitness on a stationary bike. After the workout, increase your flexibility with some deep stretching techniques.


Strength

Location: A205 (Welland)

Class Times: Wednesday - 12:30pm (Welland)

Strength class is designed for overall body conditioning with the use of hand weights, stability balls, body weight, and other fitness equipment. This class focuses on muscular strength and endurance, and begins with a cardiovascular warm-up and ends with a full-body stretch.


Strength & Core

Location: Gym (NOTL)

Class Times: Wednesday - 5:30pm (NOTL)

A total body workout that focuses on strengthening your muscles.   


Tabata

Location: Gym (NOTL)

Class Times: Tuesday - 12:30pm (NOTL)

A high intensity class with short rest periods in between.  This class is extremely beneficial for improving cardiovascular endurance while incorporating all major muscle groups.  


Upper Body Blast 

Location: A205 (Welland) 

Class Times: Thursday - 5:30pm (Welland)

Focuses on improving upper body muscular strength. Targeting the arms (biceps & triceps), shoulders and back and chest muscles.


Yoga 

Location: A205 (Welland) / Gym (NOTL)

Class Times: Monday - 12:30pm (NOTL) 6:30pm (Welland); Tuesday - 5:30pm (Welland)

This Hatha Yoga class is a gentle to mid pace practice in which you will utilize your breath while executing a variety of yoga postures. Great for increasing flexibility, alleviating stress, and developing muscle tone. Don't forget to bring your mat.
