Manie (Roy) Ferris

Manie (Roy) Ferris formerly of Southampton, Ontario, was one of the most dominating scorers in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Women's Basketball league.

In her rookie season, the forward led the Knights in scoring and 10 th overall in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association with an average of 12.8 points per game for a total of 179 points and was named 2nd team All Star. She was recognized for her outstanding play and team leadership as she was the recipient of the team Most Valuable Player and Niagara College Rookie Athlete of the Year Awards.

In her second and final year with the Knights, Manie returned to add more personal awards as she improved to second overall in OCAA scoring with 17.7 points per game, represented the Knights at the mid-season Annual All-Star game and was chosen West Team MVP, recipient of the OCAA Athlete of the Week award, OCAA First Team League All-Star, recipient of the Niagara College Athlete of Distinction and Second Team Most Valuable Player Awards.

For her leadership and multiple achievements, Manie was bestowed with Niagara 's esteemed Female Athlete of the Year Award for 1996–1997.

Manie is a graduate of the General Arts and Science program. Her most memorable moment was all the bus trips to and from league games.
