Leah Kulas

Leah Kulas came to Niagara College from her hometown of Wingham, Ontario. During high school such achievements as MVP and Female Athlete of the Year set the tone for her career at Niagara College.

She joined the women's volleyball team in only its second year in the league where they placed 2nd in their region, up from a 10th place finish in the program's inaugural year. In that year, she was named to the OCAA (Ontario Colleges Athletic Association) Western Region All-Star team. In 1989, as team captain and outside hitter, she worked hard to keep the strike stricken volleyball program afloat. Her accolades included two time Female Athlete of the Year and recipient of the Athletic/Academic Scholarship 1988-89 & 1989-90, Team MVP and due to her dedication to volleyball and badminton she received the college letter and Athlete of Distinction award.

Leah's pinnacle moment came when she outscored her opponents by a combined score of 109-8 in badminton and went on to clinch 4th place at the OCAA Championships.

Her most memorable experience was the connection she felt with her 1988-89 volleyball team. Leah graduated from the Law and Security Administration program on the Dean's Honour Roll in 1990.
