PREVIEW: Golf season tees off at Fanshawe Invitational

The Niagara Knights golf team will look to kick off their 2018-19 season with a solid performance as they travel to London to take part in the 14th Annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 15th. The tournament will take place at FireRock Golf Club. 

Seven golfers will tee it off for the Knights at the course in Komoka, just outside of London. Returnees Logan Lammerant and Marshall Pemberton will headline this years team. Chris Hallborg, Spencer Gates, Matthew Gibson, Jason Maloney, and CJ Henry will round out the roster to kick-off the season.

Lammerant, entering his third season with the team, finished off the 2017-18 season on a high note, earning himself an 8th place finish in the OCAA Championship. 

The Knights other returning player, Marshall Pemberton, finished tied for 36th at the provincial event. He the team's top finisher at the 2017 Niagara Knights Fall Classic, shooting 5-over 70 and earning himself a tie for ninth place.

Cameron Thin beings his fourth season as head coach of the Knights' golf team. He joined the Knights as interim head coach in 2014, before taking over the reigns full time prior to the 2015 season. During his time Thin has experienced tremendous success as coach, and will look to recapture the magic this season. 

Niagara is coming of a Division II OCAA Championship last season. However, they will look to return to their form from prior. The Knights team won a CCAA Silver Medal in 2015 and captured an individual CCAA Gold Medal in 2016. 

The Niagara Knights golf team will kick-off their 2018-19 season on Saturday, September 15th at the Fanshawe Falcons' 14th Annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament at the FireRock Golf Club (10345 Oxbow Drive) in Komoka, Ontario.
